A frail, humble walking-stick marched to Dandi

With steely resolve,

Spoke in silence and scooped up a handful of salt

That shook the foundations of an Empire.

Now, the lathi is muscular and loud,

Baying for blood;

Ready to teach a lesson or two

About non-violence

To the world.
